Welcome to our February eNews, 2024.

Look out! It's a new year bursting with energy and opportunities. And given it's our February enews (and first for the year) we should acknowledge the extra day this month. Yes this Leap Year gives us 29 February - all of those Leaplings (apparently only about 5 million of them in the world) get to celebrate their birthday on the actual day.

In the interests of "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" we are very pleased to announce a funding round for our region. The Quick Response Micro Grant round will provide up to $1000 for individual artists with a focus on helping to connect them to audiences. Whether you are a musician, performer, visual artist, writer, filmmaker or any other creative pursuit, this is a great opportunity to be supported in reaching your audience. Also note that both Create NSW and Creative Australia have funding rounds closing in February and early March (respectively) so check them out. And as always we are here to help with advice, assistance and letters of support.

As late summer heads into Autumn, we can get excited for all of the cultural festivals and events that happen throughout the region. Cobargo Folk Festival kicks off at the start of March, closely followed by Sculpture Bermagui and Multicultural Festivals in both Bega and Cooma. An early Easter will see more events at Four Winds and Tilba, with April bringing us Ephemeral and Moruya Blues and Roots - to name but a few. Remember to check out 2024 Festivals listing on our website.

But before we look too far ahead, there are some great opportunities in February to visit exhibitions (SECCA, Spiral, Raglan, BAS - we are looking at you), live music gigs everywhere (Cullen and Welch in Candelo a highlight) and various program launches including Fling and Four Winds.

We hope you enjoy your extra long February and are looking forward to a bright and shiny 2024.

Andrew, Laura, Jazz, Peter, Gaby & Bee
