South East Arts NSW is calling for Expressions of Interest seeking new board members for the South East Arts Board.
South East Arts is seeking 3 new skills-based Board Members from the community. The Board is keen to hear from candidates with a skills-base not limited to but drawing from the fields of Financial Management and Planning, Legal services, Fundraising and Philanthropy, Indigenous Culture and the Disability Sector. We are seeking new members who have an appreciation of arts and culture and the role it plays in building and driving community.
South East Arts is the regional development organisation for arts and culture in the Bega Valley, Eurobodalla and Snowy Monaro Shires. We support development of, and participation in arts and culture throughout the South East Region. In recent years, South East Arts has delivered significant project achievements in Aboriginal arts and cultural development, established an arts and health strategy and launched a new Public Fund to encourage philanthropic support.
The South East Arts Board has an active, professional and collegiate board culture. It has 10 Members composed of 3 Council representatives and 7 skills-based co-opted people from the community. Board Members are appointed for a 2-year term and are eligible for reappointment for two further terms of two years each. Board Members have a term maximum of 6 years.
The South East Arts Board meet 4 times per year in different locations around the south east region. Board members are encouraged to attend events and advocate for cultural expression and development in the region.
