In 2016, I made a decision that changed my life. I needed to be surrounded by my tribe. Those of us who find great strength in being in the mountains, facing life everyday with gusto and determination, happiness and purpose. My media page (For the Love of Jindabyne) has expanded to over 6000 followers, and has gained me other work in social media, and that makes me happy. My decision to live and breath mountain air has changed my life.

The technique of weaving has been passed along generations, re-discovered, and expanded upon throughout the years. Basket making is one of the oldest known crafts. Gabrielle Powell has been making baskets since 2005 whilst formally trained in ceramics at Canberra School of Art in 1985.
Powell is passionate about up-cycling, reusing and recycling. She is an active scavenger, bringing things home from the tip, holidays or collecting useful treasures to incorporate into her next basket.…
