Merimbula-Imlay Historical Society will be opening their new exhibition at the Old School Museum commemorating the 40th anniversary of the first Merimbula Oyster Festival at 2 pm on Easter Saturday 20 April at the Museum. The exhibition will also feature aspects of the local oyster farming industry.
A new local history book “Merv the World’s Largest Oyster” by local author and historian Gary W. Selman will also be launched during the afternoon. The book gives an account of the tortuous history of Merv the Merimbula Oyster Festival Monument and the Oyster Festivals it commemorates.
Come and join us, entry to the Museum will be free. Enjoy the exhibition and the other displays in the Museum and afternoon tea.
