The Lazy Lizard is “Lost in Beadland.”
This month in the Side Room, we are proud to host an exhibition of beadwork by Elizabeth Andalis. Her exquisite work will be familiar to many in the area, from her time with the popular little “Holey Beads” gallery in Cobargo.
Elizabeth, who has lived in the Triangle for many years now, is multi-talented, being a full time musician, as well as a jewellery designer/artist. Her work has now become available on-line, and she is enjoying sales in the international jewellery marketplace, particularly with her own designs of beadwoven beads and base metal. Her intricate and imaginative work has won a number of awards, including a section of the Narooma Art Prize, and first places in the Aussie Beading Retreats Design Award, and the National Brooch Show.
Elizabeth admits that her creativity drives her from the minute that she wakes in the morning, until well into the night. Her work encompasses a variety of media, from the finest and smallest Japanese glass seed beads, to chunky organic lampwork and ceramic beads, a variety of metals, beach glass, and found objects.
Her exhibition, ”Lost in Beadland,” will be in the gallery from Wed. 3rd to Wed. 31st October, and there will be an informal opening and a chance to meet the artist on Saturday morning 6th Oct., between 10am and 12 noon. It is a land well worth exploring, so drop by and have a look around….Christmas is looming on the horizon, and a piece of Elizabeth’s work would not only make a lovely gift, but your purchase would be supporting our local artists.
