Travelling to Melbourne?
Living Space is an exhibition that brings contemporary artwork to Australia from Estonia. It will present works from different generations of women artists living in Estonia and showcase diverse artworks. The six exhibiting artists include distinguished artists Liina Siib, who represented Estonia at the 54th Venice Biennale, as well as renowned artists Mall Nukke, Maria Kristina Ulas, Ulvi Haagensen and established young artists Britta Benno and Helen Tago. In conjunction with the exhibition, workshops and a lecture on contemporary printmaking in Estonia today will be held. Exhibition co-incides with the centenary of Estonia’s independence. Estonians all over the world will celebrate this event with diverse cultural programs, and the Melbourne Estonian Community is proud to be involved. Katrin Repnau and Bernadette Pilli initiated this project, in an attempt to enhance the links between Australian and Estonian visual arts, through celebrating free movement of people and the realm of cultural exchange. A not to be missed opportunity!
