Great Southern Tour 2019
Sydney Conservatorium – David Miller AM with Senior Students
The Sapphire Coast Music Society is pleased to announce a concert featuring performances by David Miller AM and senior students of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as part of their Great Southern Tour 2019.
The concert will take place at the Wolumla Hall on Friday evening 28 June at 6:30pm, and will feature chamber music for trumpet, violin, piano, voice and guitar. Works will include Bach, Schubert, Beethoven amongst others, plus pieces made popular by Piaf, Fitzgerald and Sinatra.
The Great Southern Tour is an annual event and is undertaken to provide classical music to regional areas as well as give accomplished students experience in what it is like to be performing ‘on tour’.
David Miller (piano) was once described in a Sydney Morning Herald music review as “the role model of Australian accompanists”. He is recognised as one of Australia&’s leading pianists, chamber musicians and vocal accompanist and has been appointed as a member of the Order of Australia for his service to music.
This year’s students feature the Avant Trio (trumpet, piano and violin), a baritone vocalist, and classical guitar.
The performance will be held on Friday 28 June at 6:30pm at Wolumla Hall, Wolumla. Tickets can be purchased at www.trybooking.com as well as Magpie Music (Bega), Brief Affairs Lingerie Boutique (Merimbula), Hair Lamartine (Eden) or at the door. Tickets are $25 and students are admitted free.
