Fanfares will be calling out at venues across Australia: Enter online by 26 May 2017.
The Fanfare Competition is open to young people aged 12-21 years to write a short 30 second composition to assist calling people to take their seats at venues across Australia. Each year eight selected participants work with mentor composer Nicholas Vines to develop their ideas and have their works recorded by the Australian Youth Orchestra.
The composition should draw peoples attention and have ‘something to say’. Entrants don’t need to have a strong musical background, the work just needs to draw attention for the intended use of cueing audiences to take their seats and will be broadcast in performance venue foyers around Australia.
To enter the competition check out the submission details online, select instruments from the AYO instrumentation list and complete the submission form online before 5pm, Friday 26 May 2017 – it’s easy.
