Visual Arts South East

Visual Arts South East (VASE) is a creative industries project designed to support visual artists in the South East region.  VASE members will benefit from:
•  an online gallery website of artworks, including biography, artist’s statement, contact details
• arts business skills development workshops to enable artists to better develop the commercial potential of their practice
• a network of artists to facilitate distribution of information on prizes, competitions, residencies, exhibitions, professional development and other opportunities. To be eligible for VASE membership, an artist simply needs to have an Australian Business Number (ABN).  Members will pay an annual fee.

Past Present

South East Arts has contracted playwright Mary Rachel Brown to develop two draft scripts that explore the personal histories of elderly residents of the region.  One piece focuses on the high country and impact of the Snowy Hydro Scheme, while the second piece explores the inter-war years of the tourist hub, Narooma.  Both peices will be completed to draft this year, with further development and tour through the region in 2012.
