Artist Statement

Susan Chancellor works full time in her studio at Pambula on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. She uses a range of media to draw, paint and make prints that reflect something about the physical and social environment in which she lives. Colour and light are of ongoing interest to her. The act of drawing is usually the starting point for her work.

Biography

Susan has had a formal education in visual art in the 1970s and has exhibited widely over the past eight years. She has also attended residencies and won awards.

Susan was born in Hobart in 1948 and has lived and worked in Sydney, Europe and the Far South Coast of N.S.W.. She has had a long career as a physiotherapist and has been involved in a number of art organisations in her region.  She brings a large variety of experiences to bear on her artwork.
