Artist Statement

My paintings represent images remembered or felt in a purely abstract form. After developing an interest in art at an early age, it wasn’t until recent years that I have become productive as an artist. After unsuccessfully trying to express myself through writing I turned to paint as an instant release and found that the images and emotions came through in vivid colour naturally.

Now living in the Eurobodalla for the past six years, I work from my studio and find time the only limiting factor in producing my works of images and in mixed medium. My favourite artists are Jackson Pollock, John Olsen and my partner Mark, who encourages me to continue to paint. I am proud to say that I have twice been a finalist in the Basil Sellers Art Prize and will hopefully get to represent the Eurobodalla with my artwork again in the future.
