Artist Statement
I work with clay to produce both functional and sculptural pieces. I am drawn to this medium because of the tensions involved in using the earthly elements of fire, air, earth and water.
I am inspired by natural forms and landscapes and I derive many of my design ideas and surface treatments from the forests and coastal environments in which I live. In my work I enjoy experimenting with and working the clay to its limit, allowing organic forms to emerge.
